Juniour Camp (Ages 3-5)
Junior Camp offers a place for our youngest campers to be challenged and engaged at their own level. We take into consideration their development, skill and motor coordination as well as their attention span and energy.

Overseen by a separate Junior Camp Director, the majority of our Junior Camp Staff has pre-school teaching experience. Our child to staff ratio is smaller than in the day camp, allowing for more individual attention. Jr. Campers must be 3 years of age and potty trained at the start of our summer camp season (the 2nd week of June).

What we don't do is downsize the fun!

The Junior Campers participate in all of the age appropriate camp activities. Allowing our youngest campers to develop a sense of camp and community in a nurturing and positive environment is our goal at Camp Keystone.

Special Staff for the Youngest Campers

It takes a special person to work with the youngest children and we are very proud of a caring, nuturing staff.

Jr. Camp Fast Facts
  • designed for pre-school aged campers (must be potty trained)
  • smaller group size - 12 campers with a minimum of 2 staff member

First Camp (1st grades)
For children entering 1st grade, Camp Keystone offers our innovative "First Camp". With the continuity and routine of full-day group counselors, First Graders spend this transitional year in First Camp, before having the autonomy of Big Camp. These coed groups create a daily schedule based on the interests, attention, and energy of the group, providing challenging levels of engagement and growth, as well as giving campers the opportunity to enjoy all the Special Events and activities of Big Camp.

Campers in First Camp are placed in co-ed groups which will have the same counselors every day. Our young campers will bond with their counselor and other children in their group throughout the summer while experiencing scheduled activites each day. A daily schedule always includes swimming and sliding down our 274' waterslide but First Campers will have opportunities to ride horses, slide down the alpine slide, create arts and crafts, row boats down our creek, jump for joy on our one-of-a-kind inflatables, splash around in many different water activities...the list is endless.

Top 10 Waterslide Questions
Can anybody go down the waterslide?
As long as they are water safe and can pass our swimming test, they may use the waterslide

How fast does the waterslide go?

Our smaller campers go down the slide in a leisurely 20 seconds, while our bigger campers and counselors can speed down the slide in just 9 seconds.

If I forget my bathing suit, can I go down the slide in my jean shorts?
No. All riders must be wearing a bathing suit that is rivet free and without zippers or anything that could scratch the slide.

It's so sunny outside, can I keep my sunglasses/goggles on while riding the slide?
Anything that can potentially damage/scratch the slide may not be worn. This includes glasses, goggles, jewelry, and watches.

Can we form a "train" with 2 or 3 people at a time?
Although that may be a lot of fun, it is also dangerous once you enter the water. Safety is our biggest concern, and the potential for injury is just too great to allow this.

Can I go down the slide headfirst?
This is once again a safety issue. Riders must enter the slide in a sitting position. They can then lie on their backs, feet first, for a fun ride.

How long do I have to wait after the person in front of me starts their ride?
We will always have a lifeguard and/or slide attendant who will instruct you when it is safe to begin your ride.

What is "Waterslide Camp?"
Waterslide Camp is offered the last week of our summer schedule. Campers will participate in our traditional camp activities in the morning, then after lunch they will head up to the waterslide and pool for a full afternoon of sliding and swimming.

I might be a little scared. Can my counselor/parent take me down on their lap?
Unfortunately we cannot allow this. Again, as you enter the water it becomes a safety issue and could result in serious injury.

Can I rent out the waterslide so all my friends can experience the fun?
Camp Keystone also has a catering and special events company.
